Summary
Nametag is seeking an experienced Senior Backend/Full Stack Engineer to build and enhance the core functionality of our secure identity verification and account protection platform. This role requires expertise in backend development, a strong understanding of modern full-stack technologies, and the ability to design scalable, reliable systems. As part of a collaborative team, you will have a direct impact on our mission to provide enterprise-grade security and seamless user experiences.
Role Overview
As a Senior Backend/Full Stack Engineer, you will work across the stack to develop and maintain key systems that power Nametag’s platform, including APIs, databases, and front-end components. You will collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of enterprise customers and end-users. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to all aspects of development, from architecture and coding to testing and deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Backend Development:
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems, services, and APIs.
• Optimize database performance, manage schema migrations, and ensure data integrity.
• Build robust authentication and authorization mechanisms to support secure interactions.
- Full Stack Development:
• Contribute to front-end development, ensuring seamless integration between user interfaces and backend services.
• Build and maintain internal tools, admin dashboards, and other supporting applications.
• Collaborate with design teams to ensure user-friendly and accessible interfaces.
- System Architecture and Scalability:
• Design and implement architecture for new features and services, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in system performance and infrastructure.
• Advocate for and implement best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment.
- Collaboration and Mentorship:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product and DevOps, to align engineering efforts with business goals.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on coding practices, architecture decisions, and problem-solving.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code standards are maintained.
- Innovation and Problem Solving:
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices, recommending their adoption when beneficial.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve system reliability, performance, and developer experience.
• Debug and resolve complex technical issues across the stack.

• Backend Expertise: Strong experience with backend technologies, including Node.js, Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Database Proficiency: Skilled in working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and experience with schema design and performance optimization.
• Front-End Skills: Proficient in JavaScript frameworks like React or Vue.js, with an eye for building responsive, user-friendly interfaces.
• API Development: Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs or GraphQL services.
• Cloud Experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and tools like CloudFormation, Lambda, and RDS.
• Security Focus: Understanding of secure coding practices, authentication mechanisms, and data protection principles.
• Collaboration: Strong communication skills and a track record of working effectively on remote, cross-functional teams.
• Problem-Solving: Proven ability to debug complex systems and optimize for scalability and performance.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $190,000 plus equity and benefits.
