Job Description: Application Engineer, Service Operations

This position is responsible for managing SaaS / Cloud Application running in highly available and across geographically different datacenters. Ensure availability, scalability and uptime requirements of Applications are clearly understood and addressed. Preserve the integrity and design of application and product to support mission-critical service offered to customers necessary for business operations. Under minimal supervision, produce deliverables in alignment with overall Transformation program demonstrating mastery skills in area of sub specialization.

Responsibilities:

• Provide service to SaaS/Cloud Services by providing proactive knowledge and acting as an escalation point for Service Operations. Resolve issues & incidents within SLA.
• Proactively work with vendors & providers on issues identified in products and chase issues until successful resolution. Timely resolution of issues within work stream
• Independently implement approved medium and large-scale projects that align towards service and departmental goals.
• Lead, coordinate, and manage all aspects of application design and implementation.
• Oversee the development, and implementation of service/application software solutions
• Participate in design of new application, and strategies.
• Manage relationships with counterparts including functional owners or work streams
• Liaise with company's database, Network/Systems & NOC teams for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
• Provide direction for the Network Operations team in support of application support.
• Coordinate and conduct training sessions for junior system administrator staff.
• Provide guidance and support to the enterprise; act as single point of contact Applications Operations related issues.
• Coordinate with network engineering to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of applications to meet business demands.
• Recommend and execute modifications to application infrastructure in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance for application
• Implement automation for Application deployments.
• Implement monitoring for Applications and Services.
• Keep current with related technologies and releases.
• Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance in relates to applications. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

• BS in CS/EE with minimum 3-7 years of experience as hands on Application & Infrastructure Engineering & Operations.
• Must have worked in services with 99.9% or more uptime/SLA
• Worked in services requiring 10 minutes of response time to Incidents including experience in carrying on-call rotation pager
• Must to have strong knowledge on cloud technologies like AWS, Azure etc.
• Must have 5+ years of experience in supporting application deployment & troubleshooting .Net applications and strong experience with SQL server-based application deployment
• Expert in Apache, Tomcat, Windows IIS, Active Directory
• Must have working experience with scripting and automation. Python and power shell.
• Good to have experience in managing Virtualization technologies like ESX, Hypervisor etc.
• Good understanding of database (MSSQL) and basis troubleshooting
• Experience in supporting applications in SaaS framework
• Experience in release management
• Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required.
• Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
• Work independently without much supervision.
• Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
