About the Role

Planful is rapidly growing and to continue the record-breaking success we’ve seen, we’re looking for a Senior Director Product Management who can drive success across multiple platforms. Reporting directly to the VP of Product Management, you will be responsible for leading and shaping the overall product strategy and roadmap to deliver best-in-class solutions to our customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Design, Marketing, and Sales, to define and execute a product vision that aligns with Planful’'s objectives and customer needs.

  • Define and drive the product strategy and vision for Planful's product portfolio, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business goals and customer needs.
  • Lead and manage a team of product managers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to foster their professional growth and ensure successful product delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering to translate product strategy into actionable plans, driving the development of high-quality software solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Work with Design and UX teams to create intuitive and user-friendly product experiences that delight our customers and exceed market standards.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer pain points, and growth opportunities, using these insights to inform product decisions.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies for new product launches and to enable successful product adoption and positioning.
  • Build strong relationships with key customers, gathering feedback and understanding their needs to inform product enhancements and prioritize feature development.
  • Define and track key product metrics and KPIs to evaluate product performance and effectiveness, making data-driven decisions to continuously improve products.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously expanding your knowledge and sharing insights with the team to drive product innovation.
  • Present product plans, updates, and business cases to executive leadership and stakeholders, effectively communicating product vision and roadmap.

What you Bring to the Table

  • Proven experience 8+ in product management, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role, ideally within the software or technology industry.
  • Deep understanding of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) domain, with a track record of successfully managing and launching FP&A software products.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize market trends, customer feedback, and business data to make informed product decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience in defining product strategies, creating product roadmaps, and successfully executing them to deliver customer value and business growth.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire a team of product managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Collaborative and results-oriented mindset, with a track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams to drive product success.
  • Passion for technology and product innovation, with a customer-centric approach to product development.
