Job Description:

This is a rare opportunity for a passionate engineer to work with world class Performance and Scalability engineering team of Planful flagship suite of cloud-based SaaS applications. Our applications enable our users to input petabytes of data, run very heavy-duty processing on top of them, at very large scale. Planful is looking for a talented and passionate Performance Engineer whose is an expert at designing/developing sophisticated systems that simulate the most complex load scenarios, identifying the bottlenecks in underlying product architecture and ultimately help our product scale, and make our service very rock solid.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Understand the product scenarios and mastermind real world SaaS scenarios workloads/data and work to expose potential bottlenecks.
  • Prepare comprehensive Performance plan, designs performance simulation scripts and data.
  • Analyze performance results to pinpoint bottlenecks.
  • Debug and root cause performance issues.
  • Measure end to end, analyze all metrics (not just limited to CPU, Mem, IOPS) and trends to highlight performance improvement opportunities.
  • Build tools and frameworks.

What it takes:

  • Minimum of 4-10 years of experience in a performance engineering role analyzing, troubleshooting, and automating performance workloads on large scale systems.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages to automate load tests.
  • Good knowledge on client and server-side performance testing
  • Experience in tools & technology inclusive of Java, .Net, Visual Studio, Kibana, Fiddler, JMeter, Soap UI , SQL, SSAS and NO-SQL
  • Deep knowledge of Java and its internals (e.g., JVM performance tuning, GC mechanisms, etc.)
  • Coding experience in Java and C#
  • Knowledge on Dump Analysis (Thread and Memory) is a plus
  • Good knowledge of technology like Kafka, Logstash and Elastic Search (ELK stack) is a plus
