About the Role

As we continue to invest in and scale our EMEA market, Planful is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven professional to join our leadership team as the Regional Vice President of Sales, Germany.

In this role, the RVP of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing on the sales strategy for the DACH region in alignment with Planful’s global goals/objectives. This employee will inherit the existing team of Germany-based sales professionals, and will have the opportunity to scale the team from there. Just as important as their proven leadership experience is the ‘builder mentality’ — the ideal candidate has ample experience growing internal teams, building a GTM plan for a new territory, and overseeing long-term sales success in expanding regions.

This role requires a deep understanding of the FP&A landscape, a strong sales acumen, and a passion for driving customer value — with ‘Customers’ as our #1 Value at Planful, proven customer acquisition experience in net new markets is unparalleled.

Through the market expansion, this opportunity offers creative license and requires keen expertise in implementing best practices for sales processes, methodologies, and tools to optimize performance and drive results. This senior leader will drive accountability and performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement and achievement of sales objectives, and partner with the Executive Leadership team on future expansion strategies. This person will report directly to the SVP, EMEA and serve as the senior most member of our Germany presence.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

    • Hire, onboard, and manage a high-performing sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to drive individual and team success.
    • Implement best practices for sales processes, methodologies, and tools to optimize performance and drive results.
    • Drive accountability and performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement and achievement of sales objectives.

Team Building & Market Expansion

    • Experience leading teams of 5+ full cycle sales representatives
    • Leverage personal charisma, energy, and industry expertise/network connections to attract top talent to the organization.
    • Establish Planful as an employer of choice in the German FP&A software domain, contributing to the company's overall talent acquisition and retention strategy.
    • Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote Planful and generate leads.

Sales Performance Optimization

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders in specific regions.
    • Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align sales efforts with overall company objectives and ensure customer satisfaction and success.
    • Utilize sales data and analytics to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.
    • Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and presentations to executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive sales leadership experience and proven track record of both personal and managerial success in software sales, preferably in financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
  • Proven success in building and scaling high-performance sales teams, preferably in breakout regions/territories, with a focus on FP&A software solutions.
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of the software industry, DACH specific market trends, and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers and internal stakeholders as well as prospective internal teammates.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive informed decision-making and sales strategies.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive results in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment.
